Easter Rising Tours Return in April
The Easter Rising 1916 tours return this April and promise to be an engaging experience. These tours will focus on figures buried here who are synonymous with the struggle for Irish independence. You will hear the stories of:
- Éamon DeValera
- Michael Collins
- Harry Boland
- Countess Markievicz
- & many more
This tour will also take in our daily re-enactment of one of the most famous speeches in Irish history which was delivered by the graveside of Jeremiah O’Donovan-Rossa by Easter Rising leader Pádraig Pearse in 1915. It is widely believed that this event lay the foundations for the Rising itself.
These tours have been created to mark the Rising which happened in Dublin 103 years ago and is unequivocally one of the most significant events in Irish history.
While the leaders of the Rising itself are not buried here, there are commemorative plaques dedicated to each of them on display within the grounds.
This tour will suit history enthusiasts or those who would like to become more familiar with the important moments throughout the formation of this country.
The tours will run from April 19th – 22nd at 2:00pm.
Tickets from €10.20 and we offer family passes too.
