Heritage Week
Fri 21 Aug 09: Heritage Week in Glasnevin Cemetery a huge success.
Glasnevin Cemetery ran a series of walking tours for of Heritage Week 2009 at 2.30pm & 7.30pm. The tours proved to be a huge attraction with 1198 people taking part. Visitors to the Cemetery were given a free poster and a tour by one of our highly trained and passionate guides.
The tours commenced at the entrance of the cemetery and will be given by Shane MacThomais who has been the official tour guide and Historian to the cemetery for over ten years or by Paul Farrell an expert in the cemeteries history or by Bridget Sheerin who has been teaching Irish history over two decades.
A visitors book was available for those to sign the following are just a few

"History in our own backyard" David Horgan, Meath
"Great tour I will be back" Brian Dempsey New York.
"Bridget was brilliant, enjoyed the tour despite the rain" Pat Coffey County Dublin.
